Eventually I brought up the Immanuel Quilt and she expressed an interest in seeing it. Together we walked to my home so she could see it and I could share the story. What a blessing it was when she shared what she was seeing in the quilt. Things God had not yet shown me, but was now showing me through the eyes of another person.
She viewed the border of the quilt as more than purple triangles pointing inward to keep our focus on Christ. If you look at the border in reverse, as she did, you can see megaphones shouting out and proclaiming the names of Jesus.
I explained that to my surprise, the overall design turned out to be blocks of different shapes and sizes, that somehow managed to fit perfectly in place. I knew God's hand had been in control as I am not a designer. Had it been my doing, all would have been square blocks.
She said, “Isn’t that how God made us? He has made us in different shapes and sizes, uniquely beautiful, to fit perfectly in place to fulfill His purpose.”
Don't you just love that perspective?
