Friends, this was the word used to describe The Immanuel Quilt this weekend! I was really excited to be invited to the Benwood Women’s Retreat at Turkey Run. I believe they were in awe of its beauty and how it reflects who God is – the Creator of All Things – including The Immanuel Quilt.
On Friday evening I shared The Immanuel Quilt and the story of how God communicated His desire and plans to an ordinary woman to create an extraordinary quilt that reveals who He is so that we may know He is with us. I shared how this required radical obedience on my part to accept this challenge. Then the next morning, the next speaker, we hear about radical obedience!
Sherry Miley, a Messianic Jew was the main speaker on Saturday. She wonderfully communicates the Gospel of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Her story is filled with hope and compassion as she shares how to open our hands, palms up, and relinquish our concerns to God as she has done many times. Then…. the next speaker’s title…..“Safe in the Savior’s Hands.”
Sherry’s second message was, “Understanding our Jewish Heritage.” During her talk she used the Immanuel Quilt to refer to His names Root of David, High Priest, and Hope. It was an honor to see God use the quilt as a visual for another speaker.
The main question throughout the weekend was, “Do you have a servant’s heart?” You just may want to ponder that question for yourself.
