My father-in-law went to be with the Lord three years ago. My mother-in-law is often given reminders of his love when she sees things that remind her of him. Seeing a cardinal brings her both tears of sorrow and tears of joy as she remembers their days together.
I met a woman tonight with a similar reminder of the one she loved and misses. For several years on their anniversary her husband’s gift to her was a Rose of Sharon bush. She has enjoyed looking out their kitchen window and seeing the row of bushes being reminded of his love for her.
Now this woman says as she looks out her window she will be remembering not only her husband but Jesus. God is honored every time we remember His Son. It doesn’t matter what causes our thoughts to go to Him, He is just pleased when we do.
Another woman pointed out her favorite block was Jesus as the Bridegroom. She, as we all should be, anticipates with great excitement the day Jesus will return for His bride (the church-the united body of believers) because we will finally meet our Bridegroom face to face!
Are you ready to walk before the Bridegroom when He comes?
